Anne Burrell

Anne W. Burrell (born August 25, 1949) is an American TV chef personality. Burrell was also an instructor at the Institute of Culinary Education. She hosts Secrets of a Restaurant Chef on the Food Network and the co-host of Worst Cooks in America. Anne Burrell's Food Network show Secrets of a Restaurant chef is a hit with her signature spiky blond locks and pumped up appearance, offers easy techniques anybody can learn. Chef Burrell also worked at some of New York's top restaurants, has studied Italian cuisine and its traditions as well as participated in Food Network's Iron Chef America. While growing up in the upper reaches of New York area, Chef Burrell found a passion for cooking and food from a young age. She pursued her passion for food and restaurant by enroling at The Culinary Institute of America following her graduation in English and Communication from Canisius College, Buffalo NY. The Culinary Institute of America has been a great experience. It was difficult to master, do or work enough. After graduating Chef Burrell was in Italy for a whole year taking classes at classes at the Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners. Additionally, she worked at La Taverna del Lupo and La Bottega del 30 (a Michelin highly rated restaurant) in Tuscany. In her time in Italy she grew to truly appreciate and understand the philosophy behind Italian culinary and cultural traditions that made a lasting impression on her culinary viewpoint. Burrell is an ambassador for the celebrity chef for the Juvenile Diabetic Research Foundation. She also has been on the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board that assists children with obstacles. She speaks about her cooking love and imparts her expertise in the culinary world when she travels throughout the US in the roles of speakers and mentors. Anne declared that she felt fortunate that I could share her true passion with the people around her.
